Welcome to the Melbourne CBD SQL PASS Chapter. We are a SQL Server special interest group that forms part of the Victoria .NET Dev SIG.

We meet at lunch time 12:15PM for a 12.30PM start and finish at 2.00PM mostly on the 2nd Monday of each month at:

Understanding SQL Server Indexing
Greg Low

Correct indexing is critical to the performance of SQL Server applications. In this session, Greg will cover the types of indexes available with SQL Server, best practices for designing an indexing strategy, how indexes are used by the query optimizer and how they are maintained.

About Greg

Greg Low is an internationally recognised Consultant, developer and trainer. He has been working in development since 1978, holds a PhD in Computer science and a host of Microsoft certifications. Greg is the country lead for SolidQ Australia (www.solidq.com.au), a SQLServer MVP and a Microsoft Regional Director. Greg is one of only a handful of people in the world to hold the new Microsoft Masters certification for SQL Server 2008 and teaches internal classes for Microsoft on their Redmond campus.
