Introduction to StreamInsight

NOTE: This meeting is at Saxons in Collins St

Greg Low

One of the significant additions to the SQL Server product line in SQL Server 2008 R2 is StreamInsight. This developer-focussed capability works with event data arriving at high speeds and needing to be processed with low latency. In this session, Greg will explain the role of Complex Event Processing, show what is being supplied with StreamInsight and work through the basic concepts needed to begin to work with it.

This session would be ideal for anyone needing an understanding of the StreamInsight technology or for developers wanting to get a head start on working with it. Greg has recently presented a day-long train-the-trainer event in Redmond for StreamInsight. This session will cover the highlights from that material.

 About Greg

Greg Low is an internationally recognised Consultant, developer and trainer. He has been working in development since 1978, holds a PhD in Computer Science and a host of Microsoft certifications.

Greg is the country lead for Solid Quality (www.solidq.com.au), a SQL Server MVP and a Microsoft Regional Director.

Greg is one of a handful of people in the world to hold the new Microsoft Masters certification for SQL Server 2008 and teaches internal classes for Microsoft on their Redmond campus.
